What does the unit cover?
This unit develops the individual’s knowledge and understanding of the issues around equity release schemes and addressing needs. Individuals need to understand key legislation and regulatory requirements surrounding equity release planning as well as understanding the equity release products and options that are available to address individual needs.

The main syllabus elements are:

Candidates should be able to understand the:

• Key features, risks and benefits of home reversion plans;
• Suitability and affordability of the different types of home reversion plans and the principal products and services that are alternatives to home reversion plans;
• Application of suitable equity release solutions according to the circumstances of different customers.

How is it examined?
1 hour, 30 multiple choice questions including 5 scenario based questions. Pass mark is around 70%
